Education & Training
The clinicians at Breast and Surgical Oncology at the Poche Centre are committed to teaching students at all levels from medical students to Fellows undergoing specialist training and visiting doctors from overseas. We are also committed to education for General Practitioners, women experiencing breast cancer and the wider community.
Fellowship in Surgical Oncology
Each year, Breast and Surgical Oncology at The Poche Centre offers a 12-month Fellowship in Surgical Oncology. This provides advanced training in breast cancer and melanoma for surgeons. It includes experience in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and Breast Reconstruction and it is accredited by Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ).
The Fellowship is available each year commencing in January.
Enquiries about the Fellowship should be directed to Prof Andrew Spillane (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Fellowship position is generously funded by The Friends of the Mater Foundation, North Sydney.
The Inaugural Fellowship was offered in 2012. For the first two years it was also partly funded by The Melanoma Institute Australia.
